Finder's Blogger's
Last week I received an assignment for my art class that incorporates finding random objects for inspiration. My teacher suggested that we check out FoundMagazine to get us started. She warned us that the site was addictive, but I had no idea! This site literally has thousands of items from notes and pictures to graffiti that people have found in various places, then posted on the internet for all to see. There are even musicians who are recording songs using their finds. Brilliant! The sheer amount of comments that each item gets is mind-blowing! I think that this is really interesting in the sense that many people are uber concerned with their privacy on the web, yet they forget that every aspect of our lives puts us out in the open. From sticky notes to shopping lists, people are constantly leaving little snippits of their private selves everywhere. There is even an entire sister-site devoted to found items of a scandalous nature at DirtyFound. I love that the web provides for niche communities such as this to be accessible and flourish.

This is quite an interesting site indeed!
I find it funny how people in general tend to want to know what is happening in the lives of others, hence the frequency of snooping, gossip, and popularity of soap operas. I think we all are drawn to this for some reason or another, like to look at the differences or similarities in cultures, lifestyles, and experiences, perhaps to extend our own, or merely in awe of it; sometimes it gives us insight into secrets, and some may make us feel better about ourselves. Whatever the reason, it contributes to the popularity of reality shows such as Survivor, Big Brother, etc.
I also agree with your point that people get so worried about online privacy and yet forget some common-sense, real world privacy issues.
Here are a few links related to privacy:

...and an interesting little tidbit regarding
privacy nightmares.
If you have any interest, they have published a number of books as well, which are a lot of fun to browse through. If you like this site, definitely check out PostSecret's blog. These are people who purposefully divulge their secrets, but it's completely anonymous and follows a specific format. Great site, with books as well. Enjoy!
