Being able to play NES games and other old games on a cellphone or an ipod isn't really new, but someone has managed to play a multi-player game, which is DOOM3 in this case, on the IPod Touch using the WiFi technology. Since the IPod Touch has the touch screen technology, players can shoot by tapping on the screen. The "Accelerometer" technology is used to move the character on the screen.

That's quite awesome to see each of the different technologies and ideas come together to create this possibility. This shows potential collaboration between companies, and gives Apple some hold in the gaming community, amongst the "hip" generation that it is marketed to; allowing it to broaden the gaming community to those who may not necessarily have done much before.
The use of gestures both in the motion of the unit and in the touch-screen seems to make some control more intuitive, much like some of the games for the Wii, and applications for Macs, the ways of technology are indeed adapting to the real world, making it easier to access technology.
Takuro--
Nice post. Thanks. And your presentation is may 12. When I replied to your email I got a message that said your box is too full.

My skepticism tells me that this is another youtube fake. It could have been simply a video of doom on the iPod touch and good acting. I'm also not sure the iPhone accelerometer works in this manner. Here's another example of an infamous "iPhone" faked video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyy2GWKXzgA
Awesome concept, but I don't really think this'll take off except in small circles. Who knows, being a nerd on the go? I'm all for it.
I just read that Apple is planing to distribute games and other software over iTunes. With Apples name recognition and distribution software if could become a real competitor with the DS and PSP. http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/62108.html?welcome=1208240233
